Character History: Corporal Stella Rogers

Stella Rogers was never a girl to write home about. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York she was skinny and boyish looking growing up. The neighborhood kids picked on her and it only got worse when her mother died and she went to the orphanage. She had one friend though, James "Bucky" Barns, who stood up for her even while he wished she'd act more like a girl instead of a tomboy.

When war broke out, Stella went to the nearest recruiting center and tried to get active combat duty. She was shoved off on the typing pool instead and ended up a secretary. It was not what she wanted and try as she might, she just couldn't get anyone to take her seriously. Her determination got her noticed however by Agent Peggy Carter in the Strategic Science Reserve. Agent Carter took Stephanie as her assistant and the two women grew close.
